Friendly and helpful staff. I have used this Avis Car Rental location at TVC for a decade. The staff, led by Kathy-the Lead Rental Agent, is helpful and efficient. I know the Traverse City area. I lived there. I have watched Kathy and the staff give new business travelers to the area and tourists helpful and accurate information. You will be processed and be on your way quickly and with a smile and a clean car. It is the busiest car rental booth at TVC......... for good reason.
Someone at this particular Avis is dishonest. I returned my rental completely full - except for the one mile it took to drive from the Shell station - and a week after I returned it, they charged my credit card $93.00 for gas, (at$9 something per gallon) . Phone number to the TC Avis desk won't go through; got put on with a national rep who explained the charge but can't do anything about it. I'll stick with Enterprise.
Service was friendly and efficient despite computer being down. They had preprinted my agreement which was ready on arrival. Checkin was easy. Car was clean and gassed up. Ended up with a flat tire later in the day and Avis sent a tow truck to change the tire and then quickly swapped out the car when I brought it back.
The people at Traverse City airport were fantastic. Very helpfull and very hospitable with first time visitor to the area. Enjoyed the airport and the service from AVIS.
The car rental process was very easy; including reserving on-line, pick-up and drop-off. The staff was friendly and expedient. We were pleased to have received a Chevrolet. The price was reasonable and lower than competitors. The only complaint would be that the windshield was dirty and needed cleaning outside and inside. This usually is an opportunity missed by the clean-up crew as we have had the same complaint on other Avis rentals. This has been from any Avis rental location we have used, not just the Traverse City location.
