Exceptional customer service and good prices. The staff is very helpful and have a wealth of knowledge on a very wide variety of guns from very old to the latest. If you are looking for parts to an older gun, stop by Hampel's, they probably have what your looking for, or know where to find it! This will certainly be my go to gun store in Traverse City.
I turned to Hampel’s to help me mount a scope. They directed me to a mount they felt would work. Once the mount arrived they said they needed to drill out the rail I provided to install the scope. When I took it out to sight it in there were no groupings, on my fourth shot the scope fell off the gun and hit the ground. I returned to Hampel’s explaining what happened. They wanted to try and mount the scope again. I requested a refund for the mount they ordered, they refused. I now have a mount they provided but refuse to return and a rail that also cannot be returned because they drilled it out. While the staff was friendly, the quality of their work and customer support leaves much to be desired.
Knowledgeable staff. The only reason that doesn't get a (5 star) rating, is the fact they charge $45 plus ($2.50) tax for gun transfers. I highly recommend to anyone looking to purchase a firearm or ammunition, go to this gun shop.
Hampel’s had the muzzle gun supplies we were looking for at a good price. They need to get the county to put up a street sign though.
