Had another great meal at Tuscan Bistro. We really like Tagliatelle Bolognese and Cavatelli with Mushroom Ragu. Yum
Decent food. Pricey. $9.50 for a Martini. Friendly staff.
Thankfully, I ordered the Cavatelli with Mushroom Ragu. Delicious. I would have rated this establishment 5 stars if I would have stuck to my own dish alone. Oh well. Live and learn.
My food was absolutely scrumptious. My wife got the special fried green tomatoes caprese. I tried a small portion of her dish. In my opinion, the tomatoes were cut way to thick. I actually had one bite where the tomato was fibery and inedible.
Do not waste your time or money. The Tuscan Bistro used to be a good restaurant when the husband and wife who own it were there. Apparently now, their daughter manages the restaurant and it shows. They ran out of Veal on Father's Day at 7:45pm....how does that happen??? The Calamari was over cooked and tasted like rubber bands and they do not know what a Vodka Gimlet is. It is such a shame that this is no longer the Restaurant it once was, I swore I would not go back the last time I was in Traverse City, but decided to give them another try. $200 later I was more disappointed than my last visit. There are so many great places to go in Traverse City, my advice is to skip the Tuscan Bistro.
Terrific location and wonderful food. Server Alyssa was open about her favorites and steered me in the right direction. Maybe slightly overpriced but certainly do not get cheated with quality and quantity. I will definitely bring my wife back to enjoy.
