The State Theatre makes you fall in love with movies all over again.

What a great place! We took the kids to watch the 25 cent movie that was playing on a Saturday morning. The theater was well maintained and the volunteers were extremely kind and attentive. Great popcorn and comfortable seats. No issues with not being able to see the screen either and you really couldn't hear the other children around you.

This is not a Multi-plex. Here you will find interesting, provocative films. You will find comfortable seats, reasonable prices for popcorn and drinks. People will serve you with a smile and be glad you are here. No surliness in this theater. If you truly want a positive theater experience, the State Theater in Traverse City is where to get it.

The acoustics, seating and decor is easily worth the price of admission.

You are first greeted by incredible volunteers who really enhance this experience with their obvious passion for this Theatre. Next, if you’re in the mood for a treat, you will notice the more than reasonable concession prices. Note: A large bag of popcorn for $5 is virtually unheard of in 2017.

The State Theatre transports you back in time and provides you with a nostalgic and memorable movie experience.

Non-profit theaters are the way to go! It's so beautiful inside, and every movie I've gone to see, from their blockbuster new releases to their Christmas classics to their fun-filled matinee, has been an experience. If you are visiting Traverse City for any reason, stopping by the State or the Bijou is a perfect complement to your stay.

Also, the concessions and tickets are so sensibly priced as to ruin you for all other theaters. I wish I lived closer and could go more often!

Absoulety amazing place!!! My 1st time was Thursday watched it's a wonderful life. Went back again Saturday am w 20 of us. It will become tradition to go here at Christmas.
