This is a six-room Inn at the oldest Winery on Mission peninsula. The room is splendid, and the staff is treating us like members of the family. This is a little like an Airbnb without an annoying owner about. The wine is among Michigan's best. The location, halfway up the peninsula, is just the right amount of seclusion and privacy. The hot water in the shower is on the hot side, and the guest room walls are not terribly well insulated, but overall I would definitely come back here again. This is actually the second stay here. The first was about 17 years ago. It was very nice then too.
My only regret was that we didn't find the time to take advantage of the free tour of the grounds.
Wonderful place to stay! Quiet surroundings, spacious room, good and healthy choices for breakfast. Wine tasting included in room stay.
Included breakfast was a little sketchy, in that the timing seemed to be a mystery. One day the attendant came in at 830am and had to put the hot breakfast in the oven. Not a big deal, but the same thing happened the next day. There's still plenty of self-serve options, so no big deal.
Very good food for breakfast. Great comfortable place to stay. You get a bottle of wine for each night. Very nice luxury. Only two things I would say were uncomfortable are not all king size beds. ( Don't think it would hurt just to make them all kings or put sofa bed in so you can spread out if you want). And VERY HARD WATER.
Beautiful scenery and comfy spaces at the inn. While the rooms have a very hotel-like vibe, the common spaces are very cozy, like a relative's house. A bottle of wine per day was included in our package and was much appreciated, along with the two free couple's tasting sessions.
Downstairs had a large outside deck, a very nice family, and a sauna.
There was a self serve breakfast room with a nice selection of canned juices, boiled eggs, premeasured cups of waffle mix,etc all in the refrigerator. The freezer contained but was not limited to small baggies of bacon and sausage to heat up in the microwave.
Also received 2 vouchers for free tasting and a additional 5% discount for wine purchases.
The Inn itself was about 1,000 feet behind the tasting room, providing for a quieter setting. The room was very nice was a medium sized tub in the bathroom and a patio was a nice view.
Overall, we enjoyed the experience and will likely be back.
Not a whole lot of dining options on the peninsula, so either start looking early or plan on heading away from downtown if you don't want to wait an hour.
