Cindy and Jay are both very nice. They will answer any questions you have. They give you a nice glass of wine from their grapes the night you arrive. There is a big delicious breakfast in the morning. Perfect for absorbing some of the wine if your going tasting. We only needed a cheese plate to share for lunch. Hors d'oeuvres in the afternoon before you go out to dinner in the area. The property is beautiful with a great view of the area. They have plenty of tips for places to try and visit in the area.
My husband took me here for my birthday, let me say this place is amazing!!!! We went early Dec. and luckily for us the weather was great for Michigan. You can tell the owners love what they do and they are wonderful, they are also fountains of information about the area. The food was amazing as well. I would recommend their B and B to anyone looking for a fun weekend or looking for a little escape for something special.
My husband & I have been married for twenty years. Throughout those years we have chosen and enjoyed many lovely experiences at premium bed & breakfasts across the United States. Often we have stayed at "Select Registry" B&Bs. I've never written a review before but...
Sadly leaving the B&B scene
In addition, we refused the turn down service and "she" ignored our request and stated that she didn't know what they would do if they didn't do it!!??
Cindy and Jay were amazing hosts. The breakfast is to die for. Amazing views and great property. First time B&B guests and didn't know what to expect but the bar has been set high.
My wife and I had a winter weekend getaway here and really enjoyed our stay. The owners did a fantastic job of welcoming us with lots of assistance and care. Our room was great and had a beautiful view. Breakfast was tasty and sophisticated, made with gourmet ingredients. And the location on Old Mission Peninsula is one-of-a-kind in the Midwest for scenery and wineries/wine tasting. I'd recommend it especially for couples.
The Grey Hare offered: a clean suite, delicious breakfast, comfortable bed, views of cherry orchards, vineyards and friendly innkeepers.
This experience turned us off SO off to the bed & breakfast scene that I don't know if we will "go there" again?
The Grey Hare also offered many exceptions, such as: a very weedy and spidery patio, instructions to please refrain from wearing scented lotions or perfume-especially during breakfast, also, verbal instructions to the fact that we prefer if you enjoy your libations only in the common area--excuse us but we had a suite and we were looking forward to a Manhattan in OUR suite, please refrain from using the (tiny) whirlpool tub during such and such hours, also, the innkeepers strongly recommend that you stay at least two nights or we will charge you more and complain about the time it takes to clean the room and having to clean your linens and towels because "in keeping with the European ....we would prefer to only change your sheets and towels every 2-3 days!!!! Look-- if you ask any of my fiends or acquaintances about my "green-ness" they will tell you that I compost and have been recycling since 1982. But, if I am paying over $350.00 a night, I enjoy some lavishness: especially when it comes to exquisite linens, which the towels definitely lacked.
